Saturday Night Live has always treated its hosting desk like a wonderfully chaotic roulette wheel where Peyton Manning threw sketches instead of touchdowns, Charles Barkley returned repeatedly, musicians such as Justin Timberlake became comedy weapons, and plenty of left-field picks have either produced magic or face-planted live at 11:30 p.m. ET.

Lorne Michaels may now be preparing one of the show’s most fascinating experiments yet. According to Puck, Druski is set to host on November 7, becoming the first digital-native creator to headline SNL.

The internet sketch machine could soon be walking straight into Studio 8H.

Druski could make SNL history on November 7

Puck reports that Druski, whose real name is Drew Desbordes, will host the November 7 episode of Saturday Night Live. NBC has yet to officially announce the booking, and an SNL representative declined to comment on the report. The significance goes far beyond another celebrity monologue.

Druski built his comedy career through the internet, turning short-form character sketches and social-media bits into a sprawling entertainment brand. The show has recruited internet talent for years, famously bringing Andy Samberg and The Lonely Island into its orbit in 2005, yet the host chair has remained largely occupied by movie stars, musicians, athletes, and established stand-ups.

Nate Bargatze and Shane Gillis entered Studio 8H with enormous online audiences, but their foundations were live stand-up. Druski represents a different species of comedy star, forged through feeds, reposts, viral characters, and viewers discovering sketches while supposedly checking one notification before bed.

Druski may represent SNL looking toward comedy’s future, while its British sibling has already started Season 2 with one gloriously eccentric Hollywood veteran.

Jeff Goldblum already kicked off SNL UK Season 2

Jeff Goldblum opened Saturday Night Live UK Season 2 on September 12 with musical guest CMAT, immediately weaponizing the exact brand of Goldblumian weirdness viewers ordered. His opening monologue became a jazz number packed with British references, Marmite jokes, and even a nod to his famous Jurassic Park line.

The casting gave the British adaptation a recognizable international face after its first season featured hosts including Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Riz Ahmed, Nicola Coughlan, Hannah Waddingham, and Ncuti Gatwa. Season 2 subsequently brought in Jamie Demetriou and digital interviewer Amelia Dimoldenberg, whose own online origins make Druski’s reported American booking feel particularly timely.

Sky renewed SNL UK despite rocky first-season ratings, expanding its sophomore run to 12 episodes. Six installments were scheduled for fall 2026, with additional episodes planned for early 2027. All 11 original cast members also returned.
