Superhero flicks always try to conceal one or two aces up their sleeves to dazzle the audience in the theater with unforeseen surprises. The upcoming Marvel movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is no exception to this trend. They have been trying to keep a lot of things under wraps, the most peculiar of them being Sadie Sink’s character. Ever since the Stranger Things star’s inclusion in the Spider-Man film, her character has been shrouded in mystery, and the makers are trying their best to keep it that way till this very moment, when the marketing run of the movie has been dropping brand new details regularly to keep up the hype.

However, Sadie Sink has given a sneak peek at her mysterious character in a recent interview.

In a sitting with Fandango during the Spider-Man: Brand New Day press tour, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, and Jacob Batalon discussed a lot of things from the movie. Several untouched topics were covered, like the Gray Hulk, Spider-Man and The Punisher’s equation, etc. But the highlight of the interview became the moment when Sink talked about her character in the movie.

“It was so exciting. I grew up watching these movies. To join [the MCU] was very surreal. I really like the character [I’m playing] and that’s all I’ll say. She’s awesome," she said about the character.

While she was trying to be as evasive as she could, the interviewer came right out and asked her about the identity of her character directly. Of course, she did not answer that question, but she did try to create as much hype for the character as possible with her elusive answers.

Though it is absolutely conceivable that the Jean Grey rumors are a ruse and that we still do not know Sink's true identity, it is difficult to explain why Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are still keeping her part a secret. The only acceptable logic here is that Sadie Sink’s character in the movie is somehow pivotal to the entire story or that she unexpectedly turns the tide.

As mentioned earlier, the interview also took the conversation to the color of Hulk and the dynamics between The Punisher and Spider-Man in the movie.

Although there is some back-and-forth banter regarding the Hulk's color other than green, there seems to be a curiosity about the version of Hulk the viewers will get to see in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The Green Giant was intended to turn grey after the Scarlet Witch gained control of him in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, and it appears that this concept is finally being explored for Brand New Day.

Furthermore, Tom Holland talked about The Punisher in the movie, revealing that in order to stop the character from using profanities, Spider-Man webs his mouth shut. This little banter between the characters might be something comic fans like. Those fans might also know what Sadie Sink’s character actually is in the movie. The movie is set to knock on theaters on July 31, 2026.
