With Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer now carrying that legacy into Blade Runner 2099, the action has a formidable reputation to uphold.

“I don't want to see her get hurt, especially when I saw how she threw herself, literally,” Michelle Yeoh told Entertainment Tonight. The concern was entirely understandable after watching Hunter Schafer launch into the action without apparently consulting her knees, shoulders, back, or head first. For Michelle Yeoh, however, that fearless commitment was also proof that science fiction had found a "true action hero."

Hunter Schafer, meanwhile, did not seem particularly interested in preserving every joint in her body for future use. Michelle Yeoh could only admire the commitment while talking to Entertainment Tonight, especially as the younger star embraced the kind of physically fearless action that makes audiences sit up and pay attention. If Blade Runner 2099 needed a new action hero, Hunter Schafer appears to have volunteered with her entire skeleton.
