Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El does not hesitate to set out on an interstellar journey for her dog, Krypto. After a cameo in Superman, Alcock’s Supergirl returns in Supergirl, where she is thrown into a mission against a formidable enemy and dangers. She must team up with unexpected allies and fight to save Krypto or lose him. An emotional moment in the first trailer shows Kara urging her ailing dog not to give up.

This heartwarming bond is the heart of the movie, which Alcock recently spoke about in her interview.

Kara had found Krypto on her home planet, and he became her emotional anchor after losing her world. While the new film, based on James Gunn’s DC universe, may introduce changes, their bond seems to remain unchanged. Ahead of the film’s release, Milly Alcock spoke with Fandango about her character’s connection with her super-dog, Krypto.

“She's lost. Not only like the physical world that she grew up in, but also like everybody who is a part of that, and I think emotionally she's feeling very stranded, and she kind of find each other by chance in a very vulnerable pivotal moment in her life. So she's his entire world. He is the only thing that matters,” she said.

Even in the trailer, Alcock’s character is seen saying it twice that her home is wherever her super-dog, Krypto, is. After he is poisoned by Krem, she has only three days to save him, which sets her out on a desperate mission. Along the way, she meets Ruthye and helps her in her quest for revenge.

Alcock’s Supergirl also encounters another intriguing character in the film, Lobo, played by none other than Jason Momoa.

Jason Momoa to appear in Supergirl

Supergirl had long fueled rumors about Lobo’s appearance and Jason Momoa to take up the role. And the trailer finally puts them to rest with a glimpse of him. The anti-hero is known as an intergalactic bounty hunter.  From what the trailer suggests, Lobo may step in as an ally to Kara, joining her in the explosive action to save her dog.
