Sebastian Stan seems to have some movie ideas for his character, Bucky Barnes, that he has even pitched to Marvel executive Kevin Feige. Despite the character’s history as an antihero, Bucky Barnes has become one of the most beloved and crucial characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, he has yet to receive a solo movie that could explore his tragic past and life.

Whether that could change remains a mystery, but there is still hope. Stan, who has brought the character to life in several Captain America and Avengers films, has a refreshing story idea for Bucky. He even took inspiration from Dune director Denis Villeneuve.

Sebastian Stan revealed in a recent interview with New York magazine that he half-jokingly pitched a story idea for Winter Soldier to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. The actor also drew inspiration from Sicario, written and directed by Denis Villeneuve. While Stan initially presented the idea as a joke, he said Feige may have also entertained him by appearing interested and calling it “cool.”

“It’s about a guy who thinks he recognizes someone from his past that had something to do with when, you know, he was brainwashed, and he gets obsessed with this person,” Stan described the story idea.

“He goes on a whole journey to try to figure out who this person is. It’s a thriller.”

While Stan's idea, as he revealed to New York magazine is entertaining, there is no confirmation that a solo Winter Soldier movie is in development. However, the possibility is still hard to rule out. For now, the actor is expected to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, reprising his role as Bucky Barnes.

While his Marvel role is confirmed, what has kept fans awake at night is speculation surrounding his role in The Batman Part II.

Writer and director Matt Reeves previously confirmed that Sebastian Stan will join the cast of The Batman Part II. Since then, plenty of speculation has followed about the role Stan could play in the movie. Amid the rumors, Stan seemingly confirmed in an interview with the French outlet Le Journal du Dimanche that he could be playing Harvey Dent.

However, shortly after the news went viral, it was revealed that Stan had been misquoted by the French outlet. The magazine later corrected the misprint, further confirming that the Harvey Dent rumors were not true. This has left fans once again speculating about what role Stan could play in the movie.
