In addition to talking about the new film, he offered insights into his future within the DC Universe and shared high praise for his brother James Gunn's upcoming Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow, declaring it his favorite superhero film helmed by him across both Marvel and DC.

“I’ve read it, and it’s my favorite of all of them,” Sean Gunn said about Man of Tomorrow.

Discussing his extensive background across major comic book franchises - including his roles as Maxwell Lord in the DCU alongside his MCU work as Kraglin and the physical performer for Rocket Raccoon (from which he has now retired) - Sean Gunn weighed in on where the upcoming slate stands. Speaking with ComicBook, the actor addressed how the highly anticipated sequel compares to his brother's previous superhero outings for both Marvel and DC.

Addressing comparisons between his various comic book projects, Sean Gunn stressed that he does not view his past work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and his current endeavors in the DCU as competing. The actor expressed immense pride in his role across the Guardians of the Galaxy films, noting that he actively roots for the success of all such franchises. He also emphasized that quality storytelling remains the ultimate priority over rivalry, explaining that different projects serve distinct audiences. He further concluded his point by saying that the primary goal should always be delivering strong entertainment and welcoming viewers into the fold.

Moreover, there is good news for all the Sean Gunn fans out there, who just confirmed more Maxwell Lord appearances in DCU. 

Having debuted in the DCU as the calculating businessman Maxwell Lord in James Gunn's Superman last year, Sean Gunn is set to reprise the role in future projects. Traditionally known as a formidable adversary to the Justice League and Wonder Woman, this iteration of Lord has established his own corporate-backed hero squad, the "Justice Gang." 

This group of superheroes famously features Guy Gardner's Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Mister Terrific, and even crossed over into Peacemaker season 2 to scout new recruits. Given how central Lord has become to the franchise's early narrative arc, the actor confirmed that audiences will see much more of him as the character going forward.
