From carefully chosen furniture to intricate period details and immersive production spaces, set decoration can quietly shape how audiences experience a story. The latest Set Decorators Society of America (SDSA) TV Awards shine a spotlight on the creative teams responsible for bringing some of television’s most distinctive worlds to life.

Among this year’s celebrated productions are several familiar fan favorites, with one standout series receiving even more attention as its first season approaches its finale.

The SDSA Awards recognize outstanding set decoration work across television programs released between June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026. Widow’s Bay won Best Decor/Design of a One-Hour Contemporary Series, honoring set decorator Jennifer Engel and production designer Steve Arnold. The win adds another accolade to the Apple TV series, which has quickly emerged as one of the year’s most talked-about new shows.

Meanwhile, Fallout and Wednesday tied in the Best Decor/Design of a One-Hour Fantasy or Science Fiction Series category. Julie Ochipinti and Howard Cummings were recognized for Fallout, while David Morison, Neville Gaynor, Mark Scruton and Philip Murphy received the honor for Wednesday. Other winners included Palm Royale, Beef, Hacks, Happy’s Place, Never Let Go, The Muppet Show and The Bold and the Beautiful.

The recognition comes at an especially interesting moment for Widow’s Bay, which is preparing to close out its first season with an unusual opportunity for fans.

The final three episodes of Widow’s Bay Season 1 will screen for free at select AMC theaters on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. local time. The screenings will take place in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, with one designated AMC location in each city. The event marks the first time an Apple TV series has received this type of theatrical exposure and will feature only the season’s closing three episodes.

Apple TV partnered with Rutgers University and the Rutgers University Foundation for the event in honor of creator and showrunner Katie Dippold, who studied at Rutgers before launching her television career. Programming head Matt Cherniss praised the world Dippold created, while the series’ 19 Emmy nominations including Outstanding Comedy Series further cemented its impact. Widow’s Bay has also already been renewed for a second season.

With its SDSA recognition and unusual finale screening adding to its growing profile, Widow’s Bay appears to be ending its debut season on a high note. The series has already made a strong impression during its first season, earning recognition both from awards bodies and audiences. Its upcoming theatrical event gives fans another reason to celebrate the show before it returns for Season 2.
