A forensic mastermind, a spine-chilling murder investigation, and a serial killer hiding in the shadows become the heart of the highly anticipated series Scarpetta, led by Nicole Kidman. While crime thrillers and detective novels have long enticed people, this adaptation, based on Patricia Cornwell’s bestselling Kay Scarpetta book series, takes a compelling turn.

Nicole Kidman as Scarpetta: Kidman does not need any introduction, having starred in Big Little Lies, Top of the Lake: China Girl, The Undoing, Nine Perfect Strangers, and many more films. Before the crime thriller, the veteran actress appeared in Babygirl and The Perfect Couple. 

Jamie Lee Curtis as Dorothy Farinelli: Known for films like Trading Places, Perfect, and A Fish Called Wanda, the actress will play the role of Scarpetta’s sister Dorothy in the series. 

Bobby Cannavale as Pete Marino: Cannavale, who will play the role of detective Marino, is an Emmy-winning actor. He is best known for his roles in The Station Agent, Win Win, and Blue Jasmine. 

Simon Baker as Benton Wesley: Many might recognise the actor from his roles in Restaurant, The Devil Wears Prada, and The Mentalist. He will play the role of FBI profiler Benton in the new series. 

Ariana DeBose as Lucy Watson: DeBose will play the role of Scarpetta’s tech-savvy niece. She has previously appeared in The Prom and Schmigadoon! 

Jake Cannavale (The Offer) as Past Pete Marino

Hunter Parrish (Weeds) as Past Benton Wesley

This talented ensemble will headline this crime thriller, which is set for release on March 11 this year. It will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. It is just one of several gripping thrillers and comedies arriving this March, all set to keep this month’s watchlist packed.

There are three other shows arriving this month that are a must-watch after Scarpetta.

The first series to keep a close watch on is Young Sherlock, starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin. The show follows a younger Sherlock Holmes, portraying him as more ruthless than many previous versions, as he deals with mysterious and dangerous cases. This is a must-watch after Scarpetta. 

Next up is Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen. While this is not a murder mystery, the series offers a uniquely unsettling premise in which pre-wedding anxieties spiral into horror. It is an intriguing shift from crime drama to something equally intense.

Another must-watch series this March is Rooster, starring Steve Carell. This is a complete departure from the darker themes of the earlier releases. And this is a perfect way to end a month packed with back-to-back thrillers on an upbeat note.
