The anime series, Sakamoto Days, based on the popular Japanese manga series, has become a massive hit among anime fans.

The anime series Sakamoto Days is available to stream on Netflix. Based on Yuto Suzuki's manga, the series consists of 22 episodes. This was one of the most popular anime shows in 2025.

In the early weeks of January that year, the series ranked No. 2 globally among non-English-language shows. It went on to achieve 24.4 million views on Netflix, making it the most-watched anime series on the platform during the first half of 2025. Directed by Masaki Watanabe, the series brings together action, humor, and comedy, pulling in a massive audience.

The series follows Taro Sakamoto, a legendary hitman who has retired from his dangerous profession to live a quiet life running a convenience store. After falling in love with Aoi, he gives up his life as a hitman. The two eventually get married and have a daughter, Hana. However, Sakamoto's troubled past continues to drag him into dangerous situations where he must use the skills and knowledge that he learnt in the part.

Netflix has confirmed that the second season of the animated series Sakamoto Days will return in January 2027. However, the exact release date has not yet been revealed. In Season 2, Sakamoto will infiltrate the JCC (Japan Clear Creation), which is Japan's premier assassin-training institution, as he searches for clues about a mysterious figure.

The trailer hints at the return of familiar faces as well as the introduction of new characters, raising the stakes for the upcoming season. The series will likely bring the same cast members to voice the familiar characters as well as new additions. With Sakamoto Days Season 2 set to arrive in January 2027, fans have plenty of time to catch up on the first season.
