Ryan Reynolds Shares a Deleted 'Deadpool & Wolverine' Scene While Showing Love for a Fellow Canadian Rock Band

Deadpool & Wolverine was flooding with Marvel cameos and Easter eggs from the MCU, but there could have been even more if the original plans had stuck. Since the movie dropped, a bunch of deleted scenes, concept art, and scrapped ideas surfaced on the web. Turns out, there were several other characters supposed to make an appearance but, in the end, did not quite make the cut. And if that was not a surprise, the movie also had a cameo from a popular Canadian rock band- one that both Ryan Reynolds and Marvel have a bit of history with.

Ryan Reynolds recently shared a deleted scene from Deadpool & Wolverine while giving a shoutout to his fellow Canadian rockers.

Ryan Reynolds recently celebrated the Disney+ release of Deadpool & Wolverine by posting a never-before-seen deleted scene from the film. The clip, which was more of a rough, quasi-edited montage, showed Reynolds relentlessly grilling Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine with a barrage of questions, all while Nickelback’s ‘Never Gonna Be Alone’ played in the background.

In his caption, Reynolds hailed Nickelback as “one of the greatest bands on earth” and also gave Hugh Jackman props for “absolutely nailing his four words of dialogue.” The band jumped into the conversation as well, with a comment that read, “We loved this movie “ before joking, “but when do we find out why Thor was crying?!”. Both Reynolds and Nickelback have supported each other on multiple occasions.

Earlier this year, Nickelback even defended the movie with an arsenal of facts to fend off any negativity surrounding Deadpool & Wolverine.

Deadpool and Nickelback’s history of mutual love

Nickelback showed their full support for Deadpool & Wolverine with a "preemptive message" to anyone bold enough to criticize the film. They made a hilarious video of themselves wearing the superhero masks, listing off all the accolades the Deadpool franchise has achieved over the years. When Ryan Reynolds saw the clip during an interview with Etalk, he could not help but say, “My god. I love those guys.”

The video was a comedic throwback to a 2018 Once Upon a Deadpool teaser, where Reynolds’ Deadpool passionately defended the rock band after Fred Savage’s Princess Bride scene poked fun at the Marvel franchise. The actor compared it to “if the Beatles were produced by Nickelback. It’s music, but it sucks.” It seems the Canadian rock band was on the verge of a huge resurgence, much like NSYNC, if that deleted Deadpool & Wolverine scene had stayed in the film.
