Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney recalls hitting blow in investment with Wrexham AFC's major loss in an episode of Welcome to Wrexham.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Reminisce Hitting Blow in Investment With Wrexham AFC’s Major Loss

Ryan Reynolds [https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/ryan-reynolds/] and Rob
McElhenney’s takeover of Wrexham AFC in 2021 remains one of the most iconic
takeovers in the history of football. Under their leadership, the club has grown
manifold and reached new heights. Being the third-oldest professional football
in the world, Wrexham AFC qualified for the English Football League for the
first time in 15 years. The co-owner duo also made a triumphant TV show, Welcome
to Wrexham, following their takeover.

In light of the tremendous success following their acquisition, the Deadpool
actor and McElhenney have motivated more renowned entities to consider investing
in football clubs. However, it seems like the stars are themselves rethinking
their pursuit of investment for a specific cause.

RYAN REYNOLDS AND ROB MCELHENNEY REACT TO MAJOR LOSS IN INVESTMENT IN WREXHAM
AFC

In the most recent episode of Welcome to Wrexham, Reynolds and Mcelhenney were
caught up in a moment of banter. The topic, however, was regarding the amount
that both had lost in Wrexham AFC. While the co-chairpersons were greatly sporty
about the subject, they were also looking for a “quantified” estimated amount.
Initially, the executive director, Humphrey Ker, did not shed light on the exact
amount but retorted that the amount was “loads”.

Later on, Shaun Harvey, who is the Wrexham Advisor to the Board, listed a figure
estimated at more than $12M. On hearing the same, the Deadpool actor retaliated,
“I might just throw up.” The executive director also explained to the actors
that if they sold Wrexham AFC, it would earn them more than the given figure.
However, McElhenney assured him that they might be in for their lives.

Although the co-owners of the club have hit an unprecedented setback, there are
also countless propositions as to how they have earned big-time profits since
their takeover.

RYAN REYNOLDS AND ROB MCELHENNEY’S ESTIMATED PROFIT SINCE THEIR TAKEOVER OF
WREXHAM AFC

There is a reason for referring to this takeover as one of the biggest, and it
needs a moment of appreciation. Ever since the acquisition 2 years ago, there
has been a complete metamorphosis of Wrexham AFC
[https://www.netflixjunkie.com/hollywood-news-two-years-of-ryan-reynolds-and-rob-mcelhenney-the-wrexham-afc-transformation/].
The football club has seen a hike of 300% of its net worth, making the club
worth $8M currently. Hence, not only have the Hollywood bidders come along with
ambitions but also great brand value. The entrepreneurial prodigies have also
made a show that has made approximately $9.5M across its two seasons.

Furthermore, the football club has also witnessed an increase in ticket sales
and viewership. Needless to say, there is also a growth in the momentum of
followers across every platform. Hence, it is evident how the investment from
the Hollywood stars has ignited a renaissance in Wrexham AFC, simultaneously
boosting their financial worth.
