Autumn Durald Arkapaw transcended boundaries by becoming the first female DP to film a feature on an enormous format with super-sized cameras. Now, Arkapaw and Ryan Coogler are reuniting in The X-Files, which will combine his experimental methods and her cinematography work to create a visual experience that defines the project, as per Variety.

In Sinners, Arkapaw used a mix of IMAX 15-perf 65mm and Ultra Panavision 70 to enhance both the supernatural and period elements of the vampirism tale, paving the way for her next collaboration with Coogler. According to Variety, Arkapaw is also in discussion to work with Coogler again on Black Panther 3, after the sci-fi reboot. 

Variety revealed, Coogler plans to bring his main creative work through his upcoming X-Files reboot, which will introduce fresh artistic opportunities to both him and his established creative team. Coogler has confirmed that X-Files is his immediate next project, aiming to revive the sci-fi mystery series with a fresh, potentially chilling approach. Although he has claimed that the reboot will be scary, the creators have not disclosed many details about the narrative.

He also mentioned having had discussions with the original star, Gillian Anderson, about the project.
