Robert Pattinson Teases Return to 'Twilight' While Promoting 'Die My Love' With Jennifer Lawrence

For over a decade, Robert Pattinson has worked hard to distance himself from the shadow of Twilight, carving out a career defined by daring performances and unexpected choices—from brooding art-house roles to his reinvention as the Batman. Yet the cultural grip of Edward Cullen refuses to fade. While promoting his upcoming drama Die My Love alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Pattinson found himself once again facing questions about the vampire saga that launched him to global fame.
To everyone’s surprise, the actor did not shy away this time. Instead, he playfully hinted that a return to the Twilight universe might not be entirely off the table.

Robert Pattinson joked about his willingness to return to Twilight during a recent Vanity Fair interview with his Die My Love co-star Jennifer Lawrence. When asked if he would reprise his role as Edward Cullen in a new sequel directed by Josh and Benny Safdie, whom he worked with on the 2017 thriller Good Time, Pattinson enthusiastically agreed, adding smugly, “I want to play 17 again.” The actor, 39, made the playful remark while discussing his career and Gen Z appeal during the lighthearted lie detector test.
Lawrence was not entirely on board with the idea of Pattinson returning to Twilight, though, telling him she does not think he should take up the part again. But Pattinson insisted, saying it would be “great,” and joked about stealing roles from younger stars. The exchange went on, and at one point in their Vanity Fair chat, Lawrence suggested the British heartthrob is a Gen Z wannabe, but Pattinson disagreed, claiming he is not a wannabe but, in fact, a Gen Z. Audiences, meanwhile, can now also watch the pair’s easy off-screen rapport come alive on screen.
Die My Love, released in theaters this Friday and tells a dramatic story of a young couple navigating life amid the wife’s postpartum depression.

As Grace’s isolation mounts after childbirth, she spirals into a blend of motherhood and mania. The film had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May. It currently holds a 76 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
