While plot specifics for The Batman: Part II are heavily guarded, the glimpse of a beleaguered Bruce Wayne caught in the middle of public unrest points to a city still reeling from the devastating structural floods and political vacuum left in the wake of the Riddler's attacks. Unlike the shadowy, reclusive billionaire isolationist of the first movie, this footage indicates a man forced back into the harsh public eye.

Filming in famous London spots like Freemasons' Hall and St. Paul's Cathedral, which doubled as the Gotham Bar Association, has fueled widespread fan theories about systemic corruption, civil unrest, and the potential arrival of shadowy elite forces like the Court of Owls. A full-fledged protest scene, replete with placards, white masks, and a throng encircling what looks to be Robert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne being taken through the mayhem, can be seen in new images and video from the London set.

One of the placards displayed by protesters is titled "Court of Fowls," which is obviously a parody of the Court of Owls, one of Batman's more recent and enigmatic comic book antagonists. The placard in the viral footage, along with a number of demonstrators donning pale, owl-like masks evocative of the Court's assassins, the Talons, has supporters persuaded that the covert organization is finally making its live-action debut.

While a new glimpse of Robert Pattinson from the movie gives fans a glimpse of the storyline for the sequel, the actor himself has given an update on filming challenges.

In a recent interview with GQ dated September 1, 2026, Robert Pattinson opened up about the physical difficulties of filming The Batman: Part II, admitting that it is more difficult than ever to execute the film's violent action sequences. When questioned about his experience working on the much-anticipated sequel, Pattinson joked about feeling his age while filming the action scenes. 

"I'm definitely feeling my age when fighting a lot," the actor said.

Despite the physical strain, Robert Pattinson commended the sequel's ensemble and called the production a true "marathon." He also regarded the overall experience as extremely fulfilling. He went on to say that he thinks the final product is going to be outstanding. The actor's remarks highlight the effort being put into the follow-up, which undoubtedly enhances anticipation for the movie.
