It has been a hectic month for Conor McGregor, who is set to return to the ring for his first official bout in years. Fans have been waiting nearly five years for his comeback, during which the Irish professional mixed martial artist explored several different ventures. Many may know that he also starred alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in a film.
However, soon after its release, McGregor was quick to express his wish to stop exploring opportunities in the film industry. While the 37-year-old is no stranger to hard work, he admitted that one aspect of filming proved to be a challenge.

Conor McGregor appeared in the 2024 film Road House alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. During an exclusive screening of the film, the mixed martial artist admitted that he is unlikely to take on more acting projects in the future. And the reason was unexpected, as McGregor revealed that the demanding filming schedule made the job far tougher than he had anticipated.
"It was hard work, and I'm used to hard work, but the schedule was intense," he told The Independent in 2024.
He further added, "I'm not sure if I will go through it again, but it's in the bank, it's in the history books. Money can come and go, but this film will be there forever."
Although he did not completely dismiss the idea, he admitted that it is quite unlikely. While McGregor has several documentaries to his name, he has appeared in only two feature films. He made an appearance in the 2008 crime drama for a minor role in The Escapist, before returning to the big screen in the 2024 Amazon Prime action film Road House, where he played the role of Knox.
And even if he were to explore more opportunities in his acting career, it is not happening anytime soon. As for now, he is all set to return to UFC.
