Amazon’s Citadel season 2 is upon us and will be released in a matter of a few days. The high-stakes world of the spies and the labyrinth of lies and secrets greatly entertained the audience in the first season, following which Amazon ordered a second season. But the second season took its time to cook, keeping fans patiently waiting for the next chapter. 

Now, season 2 of Citadel is here and about to be released, but first, it would be helpful to have all the details about the upcoming season beforehand.

Citadel season 2 will land on Amazon Prime Video on May 6, 2026, with all the episodes to be released all at once. This is good news for viewers who hate waiting for episodes every week and like to stream a series in one go. All the episodes are supposed to be uploaded on the streamer at around midnight GMT, per Primetimer.

The cast of Citadel season 1 was the biggest highlight of the series, and the second season does not disappoint in that respect. 

In season two, Priyanka Chopra Jonas will return as Nadia Sinh, accompanied by her co-star and fellow agent Richard Madden, who will play Mason Kane/Kyle Conroy. Lesley Manville will reprise her role as the evil Manticore leader Dahlia Archer, and Stanley Tucci will play head honcho Bernard Orlick once again.

Additional cast includes Ashleigh Cummings, Jack Reynor, Matt Berry, Lina El Arabi, Merle Dandridge, Gabriel Leone, Rayna Vallandingham, Rahul Kohli, Osy Ikhile, Caoilinn Springall, and Roland Moller, per Digit. The upcoming season, unlike its predecessor, will be directed by the Avengers: Endgame fame Joe Russo.

Returning in 2026 with the core cast intact, Citadel Season 2 expands its worldwide espionage realm with larger missions, more complex intrigues, and changing allegiances.

Citadel, the multinational spy agency, has collapsed, leaving its senior agents with erased memories in its wake. In order to combat a growing threat in the second season, Mason and Nadia must completely regain their former selves. The threat in question here is the formidable syndicate that destroyed Citadel, Manticore, which is currently pursuing complete global dominance. 

While facing elite assassins on the way, the tale revolves around the spies discovering profound secrets about their own organization. They search the world for undiscovered technology that has the potential to permanently alter the balance of power. With the release of Citadel season 2 on May 6, Amazon will be welcoming yet another sequel to a famous spy thriller franchise after The Night Manager.
