The Godzilla vs. Kong family suffered an unimaginable loss. One of the crucial cast members, Kaylee Hottle, passed away at the age of 18. The young actress is well known for her role in the 2021 MonsterVerse film. The devastating news of her passing was shared by her father in American Sign Language in a Tuesday Facebook video. Soon after the news spread, heartfelt tributes poured in from friends, co-stars, and fans.

Among those honoring her memory were her co-stars in the Godzilla movies, Rebecca Hall and Millie Bobby Brown.

Rebecca Hall has worked closely with Kaylee Hottle on the Godzilla films. She played the role of adoptive mother to Hottle’s character. Upon hearing the devastating news, Hall shared several of her photos with Hottle from their time together on set, along with a message.

“Devastated to hear this news. My heart goes out to your family. You will be missed Kaylee,” she wrote. Even Millie Bobby Brown expressed herself over the loss.

“I’m so devastated to hear this. You will be deeply missed Kaylee,”  Brown wrote on her story on top of Hottle’s picture from Godzilla vs. Kong.

Brown previously starred as Madison Russell in the Monsterverse films. She made her debut in Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and later returned for another movie in the franchise. Brown got to work with Hottle in the 2021 film Godzilla vs. Kong. 

The entire Godzilla vs. Kong family is rattled by the heartbreaking loss. The actress is remembered not only for her remarkable talent but also for the warmth and joy she brought to people. As previously confirmed by Hottle’s father, the actress passed away due to a car accident.

And apart from Hall and Brown, many more actors from the Monsterverse universe joined in to pour their tributes to the actress.

Dan Stevens, who is known for Abigail and The Guest, took to his Instagram Story to share a picture of Kaylee Hottle and added a broken heart emoji. The production company behind the MonsterVerse films, Legendary Pictures, also released a lengthy message mourning the actress's death. Marlee Matlin also penned an emotional message in memory of the young actress.

“I am absolutely gutted about the passing of sweet Kaylee Hottle. May her beauty and talent be a memory for eternity,” she wrote on Facebook.

Hottle played the role of a deaf, orphaned Indigenous Iwi girl, Jia, who was rescued by Kong on Skull Island. She made her acting debut at just 9 years old in Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) before reprising the beloved role in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Even in this brief time, Hottle's heartfelt performance made a massive impact. She will be remembered by fans for years to come.
