Anything better than the couch from Friends is your own couch, where you can kick back and settle in to watch yet another episode of the iconic sitcom this Christmas. Whether it is Ross spiralling over a Christmas card, Chandler quitting his job for the holidays, or Phoebe saving discarded trees, Friends always found something memorable in the season.

While this is perfect to turn up the nostalgia and the festive spirit, the trouble begins when you cannot decide which episode to play. So, here are 10 Christmas episodes from worst to best to help you find out what you should watch right now.

It was heartwarming when Chandler, stuck working on Christmas in Tulsa, quit his job and rushed back to New York to be with his friends instead of spending the holiday at the office. Moreover, the creators almost made Chandler cheat on Monica. 

So, while The One With Christmas in Tulsa had the potential to be the best Friends holiday episode, its heavy reliance on flashbacks keeps it from ranking higher. Although it wraps up on a warm and festive note.

There is a good reason for this episode to be ranked 9, as it was weighed down by one of the weakest story arcs. The plot of this episode was Ross getting a pet monkey, Marcel.

While the animal gimmick never really worked, especially compared to later pets like the chick and the duck, the episode at least benefits from its festive charm. 

The One With Ross’s Step Forward does have a few amusing moments, especially Ross panicking over Mona’s plans for the Christmas card. However, it is dragged down by weaker subplots. 

More importantly, this also hinted at the arc of Ross and Rachel’s romantic relationship, which is not liked by many. But from here on, the list will continue to get better.

The storyline in the episode was considered repetitive by many viewers, which kept it ranked near the bottom of the list. But the episode is saved by the heartwarming moment of Ross giving a pink bike to Phoebe after he found that she never had one as a child.

He even patiently taught her how to ride it. Meanwhile, Monica’s candy-chaos for the neighbors brings a string of hilarious moments to cherish.

The One With the Routine follows Monica, Ross, and Joey who unexpectedly become background dancers in a New Year’s Eve party. Meanwhile, they continue their hunt for Monica’s Christmas presents. The unforgettable moment of this episode is Ross and Monica’s over-the-top dance routine.

This was just the perfect cringeworthy moment that remains one of Friends’ most iconic and rewatchable scenes, and perfect to binge-watch this Christmas.

The best part of The One With the Inappropriate Sister is its comedy. Rachel’s growing horror at Danny’s relationship with his sister, while Phoebe’s chaotic attempt to spread Christmas cheer on the streets, was enough to cheer the viewers.

Be it the Street Phoebe vibes or Ross helping Joey to write a script, this episode certainly cannot be missed.

The best part of The One With the Holiday Armadillo is Ross’s hilarious and heartfelt attempt to teach his son Ben about Hanukkah. While he could not find a Santa suit, he brought up an armadillo outfit instead, which brought out the iconic look.

The chaos gets more interesting when Joey arrives dressed as Superman and Chandler is reluctantly dressed as Santa. So, it is definitely worth a rewatch.

The One With The Girl From Poughkeepsie follows Ross’s struggle to juggle two very different women, leading to his hilarious misadventures. This would be one of the best moments of the show. Meanwhile, Monica makes a clever scheme of hiring Joey, only to fire him to earn respect from her unruly kitchen staff.

On the other hand, Rachel is quite occupied with her first date. So, this episode deserves the 3rd rank in the list.

The One Where Rachel Quits is all about Rachel finally standing up for herself and making a bold career move. Frustrated with being forced to redo training at Central Perk, she quits her job after being convinced by Chandler and Joey.

Meanwhile, Ross hilariously tries to help a Girl Scout, Sarah Tuttle, sell cookies after accidentally injuring her. Phoebe’s love for nature and disdain for chopped-down Christmas trees bring a new comedy. Her appearance at Joey's job as a tree-seller causes even more drama.

But the chaos ends on a good note with Rachel getting a new fashion job and yet another unmissable Christmas episode.

The One With Phoebe’s Dad, which holds the top position, brings the usual holiday chaos. Monica and Rachel struggle with a broken radiator. But the best part of the episode is Phoebe finding out that her biological father is alive.

After she asks her grandmother for her father’s picture, she only finds a detail that he is a pharmacist upstate and lives in New York. This is when she decides to attempt to reconnect with him. Both Joey and Chandler join her as she heads to confront her father. 

While she ultimately did not connect with her father, both Joey and Chandler support her decision, with the three returning to Monica's apartment. The best scene is Joey and Chandler's conversation with Phoebe in the cab about her dad.

While this episode takes the top spot, the rest, as well as all the 236 episodes, are just as entertaining in their own way. Maybe rewatching all ten is the best solution after all.
