Quentin Tarantino is all set to publish his next novel this year. The director has written three books during his career, with one of his earliest being the novelization of his 2019 film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which was published in 2021. The book explores the character of Rick and his long-time stuntman and friend Cliff Booth in greater depth, giving more insight into the events around them and the era that the movie only touched upon.
Now, the director is back with his third book, arriving just as the sequel to the 2019 movie is set to arrive on big screens this year.

That puts its release just days after the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel arrives in IMAX theaters on November 25, 2026, and well ahead of its Netflix release on December 23. The title of the film is finally confirmed as The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth. Both the upcoming novel and the movie are set in the same 1977 timeline and follow events surrounding Cliff Booth (via Variety).
While Tarantino wrote the script for the sequel, he chose not to direct it, instead handing the reins to David Fincher. Tarantino has famously said that he plans to retire after making 10 films. Having already made nine, he has indicated that he wants to do something new and different for his tenth movie.
Now, with both the sequel and the novel arriving this year, fans may want to revisit the first film, which became a major hit following its 2019 release.
