Jude Law found some unusually eerie way of bringing the feel of history in his upcoming movie Firebrand. For any other periodic drama, being true to the source and bringing the feels of ancient times is no easy task. From the set to their clothes, walking and talking styles, everything needs changing. Firebrand also required that touch of originality, and Law found a weird way to bring in that aspect.

Firebrand may be a drama movie but looks like its cast member had plenty of comedic laughter. The team had a press conference ahead of the release, and Jude Law had a hilarious story to share. A reporter mentioned the rumors of Law bringing certain smells to the shoot of the movie and asked whether he would shower during the shoot. To which the actor explained that he had read about certain accounts stating how Henry VIII would stink a lot.

Apparently, people from three rooms away could smell him since his leg was badly injured, and he tried to hide it with rose oil. So the actor asked a perfumer to make a perfume made of sweat, blood, and fecal matter, which he would apply on the sets as well. The director made him use more of it, leading to much discomfort for everyone on the set.

While based on the story of Henry VII, it focuses on his sixth and last wife, Katherine Parr. Jude Law will be playing the role of King Henry VIII, while Alicia Vikander will play his sixth wife. They shot most of this historic movie in the beautiful surroundings of Derbyshire. This will be the first time for director Karim Aïnouz to direct a movie in the English language.

The film is based on the novel ‘Queen’s Gambit’ written by Elizabeth Fremantle. It will be seen whether the actor’s efforts will bear sweet fruits now. But if the standing ovation the film received at the Cannes, unlike Sydney Sweeney’s look at the festival, is to be taken into consideration, the film likely will impress moviegoers.
