Time magazine listed Prince Harry as one of the top 100 important figures in sports worldwide in 2026. The magazine has released its first list of the most significant figures in sports. It seeks to highlight the individuals influencing today's sports scene for the better. The list shifts the focus from just stats to an entity’s larger societal, economic, cultural, and leadership impact.

Prince Harry seems to have met all the above parameters and hence gotten the opportunity to be recognized for his efforts by an esteemed organization.

Prince Harry gets the top spot in Time 100 Sports list, and with this, he makes a comeback to the list after five years. The Duke of Sussex featured in the Leaders section, while Icons, Titans, and Innovators are the other categories. Prince Harry, who ranks first on the list, is commended for starting the Invictus Games in 2014 as a passion project for injured veterans and servicemen following his time in the British Army.

"I thought, 'Wow, look at the power of sport, look at how it is literally changing lives in front of my very eyes. It was so clear to me. Let's invite as many countries as possible to make it international, because clearly more countries need to benefit from this," said Prince Harry to the magazine.

He further explained that when someone takes off their country's flag from their arm or chest, something is missing. Through Invictus, they have been able to restore people's identity as well as their meaning and purpose over the years. It seems like his days in the army had taught him a great deal about the emptiness that creeps in after they are discharged from their services.

Prince Harry last made an appearance on Time's most influential list in 2021 with his wife, Meghan Markle, in the icons category. Prior to his marriage to the Duchess, in 2018, he also made an appearance in the leaders category. And after half a decade, he is back on the list for a noble pursuit.

In order to provide more service members the chance to compete, Prince Harry stated that he hopes to expand his passion project and make the Games a two-week event instead of just one. He even said that the games have not only changed lives but also saved those who had nothing left to live for except Invictus.

The one-year-to-go event for the 2027 Invictus Games, which will take place in Birmingham, will bring King Charles's younger son back to the UK in July. Three additional activities will be added to the tournament next year: pickleball, laser run (a cross-country running and pistol shooting hybrid), and esports. His inclusion in the Time 100 Sports list brings positive news for the Sussexes, who have been surrounded by negative headlines lately.
