Prince Harry has always stayed close to Scotty’s Little Soldiers, the military bereavement charity that helps children, young people and families who have lost a loved one connected to the Armed Forces, which he has recently described as something he relates to. The Duke of Sussex has supported the organization since 2017 and, in 2023, was announced as its first Global Ambassador, using the platform to raise awareness of military bereavement and amplify the voices of bereaved families. His own experience of losing his mother, Princess Diana, has also helped him connect with those who are dealing with grief on a personal level.
Prince Harry's long-standing support for Scotty’s has given him a meaningful connection with children and families coping with military bereavement.

In the same X video, he said it was a great honor and that he was proud to be Scotty’s global ambassador. For context, Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a UK-based military bereavement charity set up by Nikki Scott after her husband, Corporal Lee Scott, was k***** in Afghanistan. In his role, the Duke supports children and young people up to the age of 25 who have lost a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. He regularly attends charity events, sends messages of support, and helps raise awareness of military bereavement.
Scotty’s Little Soldiers offers bespoke bereavement support, developmental programs, grants and memorable experiences. The charity has continued to grow its network and support services to reach more bereaved families throughout the UK. Prince Harry has been involved in its community events, including the annual Summer Festival, where he participates in activities with families and gets to know its members.
His continued involvement with Scotty’s has remained an important part of his charitable work since stepping back from royal duties.

In January 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, whose recent documentary got an underwhelming response, stepped back from their roles as senior members of the British royal family to move to California and pursue independent media, commercial, and philanthropic work. The couple and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, made their home in Montecito. Their projects have included production deals with Netflix and Markle's lifestyle brand As Ever.
In addition, Prince Harry has continued his support for causes such as the Invictus Games, while remaining committed to charitable work and advocacy.
