New reports suggest the siblings are facing another schooling switch, with security concerns once again dictating the family’s plans.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly changed their children’s school just days after they started, with security concerns surrounding the school run prompting the move. According to the BBC, the Sussexes’ security team found the distance and heavy traffic on the original route difficult to secure. The schools’ names have not been disclosed.

“This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there,” BBC's source said.

The concern reportedly became clearer once regular school traffic began, despite security checks being carried out before term started. Keeping the children secure required another car to travel alongside them, but maintaining a convoy through busy roads proved difficult. A source close to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said the decision followed discussions with their security team about the practicalities of the arrangement.

The source also stressed to BBC that the Sussexes remain “extremely grateful” to the teachers and staff for the care shown to their family. The issue, therefore, appears to have been entirely about making the journey secure rather than dissatisfaction with the school itself. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly just wanted a safer and more workable arrangement for their children.

The school switch comes at a particularly telling time, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also facing a review of their publicly funded security arrangements, quite different from the scrutiny they faced from SNL UK but not so far off.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now facing a government-backed review of their security arrangements after becoming full-time residents of the United Kingdom. RAVEC, the Home Office committee responsible for assessing protection, is conducting separate risk assessments for the couple. The process will examine their routines, movements, travel and public appearances.

The assessment will also take the Sussexes’ family logistics into account, including the children’s daily routines and school journeys. While the review is underway, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly been given interim security arrangements. With their recent school move already exposing practical problems around secure travel, the review could hardly be more timely.
