Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a knack for making the first headline. However, this is not a quality much appreciated by supporters of the Royal family or even the tabloids responsible for making them the big news. And of late, this has resulted in a string of sad news. First came the announcement of the couple being told to leave the Frogmore cottage. Second came the decision of Meghan Markle to not attend the coronation.

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have cut down on their public appearances drastically, they have starved the paparazzi, to say the least. The horrifying extent of this only became evident when news of the Sussexes being chased by an “aggressive” paparazzi surfaced.

To say this month has been eventful for the Sussexes would be an understatement. Now more so, as news of them being chased down makes headlines. According to the Sussexes spokesperson, “Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi,” as reported by Reuters.
The accident took place as the Duke and Duchess, along with Doria Ragland, Meghan Markle’s mother, after they attended an award show ceremony. Given how the Duchess was slated to be honored with the Ms. Foundation’s Women of Vision Award, we can presume the incident took place after they stepped out of the venue in New York. The paparazzi followed them around for over two hours as they drove around New York City and involved “drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD“.
Admittedly, fans are baffled by the incident and can’t help but remember the past.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s accident has fans remembering Princess Diana
The nature of the news has many remembering the tragic accident that resulted in the death of Princess Diana. However, that it involved Prince Harry, his family, a car chase, and a celebrity photographer are not the only similarities that have raised brows.
Again, that sense of déjà vu..

The Duke of Sussex has been candid about the intrusion of the media in the affairs of the royal family. He took things a notch further. Along with many other influential entities, Prince Harry filed a lawsuit against popular British tabloids.

The hunting nature of the paparazzi was cited by the couple as one of the major reasons that drove them out of Britain. And once again, it has become the reason for a fear-inducing two-hour car chase.
BREAKING: In a situation eerily similar to what caused Princess Diana's death, her son, Prince Harry, wife Meghan Markle and Meghan's mother were nearly in a 'catastrophic accident' as paparazzi chased the car they were in on Tuesday in New York.

While there are many who have drawn similarities between the two accidents, others have questioned the credibility of the situation. According to the spokesperson, the entire ordeal took place in New York City, which is notorious for its traffic.
I assume that if the NYPD are involved this happened in the city not outside. There is no way a chase would last for 2 hours in a city that is usually wall to wall traffic. Unless Bruce Willis was driving a taxi through central park, it didn't happen.

Many have deemed a two-hour chase in a city as packed as NYC an unattainable feat unless Bruce Willis is the driver. While speculations are rife, time will tell what the Sussexes’ next move would be.
