Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not exactly keep their champagne glasses hidden after Meta’s multibillion-dollar child safety settlement. Through the Sussexes’ website, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their celebration of the outcome, building on their involvement through the Archewell Foundation. For the couple, the agreement marks a notable moment in the long fight over children online.

“We celebrate with the parent and youth partners, legal and policy experts, and allies everywhere fighting for accountability,” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle declared. The statement gave the victory to the parents, young people, experts, and advocates who refused to let the issue disappear. Meta may have reached a settlement, but the Sussexes clearly see no curtain call yet.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also used their Sussexes’ website statement to look beyond this particular case. Their response presented the settlement as encouragement for wider change across the technology industry, particularly where children spend time online. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated the progress while making one point unmistakable: accountability remains very much on the agenda.

As people begin revisiting Megxit in light of the case, it is worth looking beyond the royal drama and toward Archewell Foundation’s legal advocacy.

Causes that Archwell Philantrophies supports

Archewell Philanthropies has certainly not confined its charitable interests to one tidy corner of the world. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s organization has backed mental health and online safety through initiatives such as The Parents’ Network, while also supporting Mind, Humanity Crew, and Stanford University’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education. That is quite a list for one philanthropic portfolio.

Archewell Philanthropies has also put money behind digital rights and misinformation work, funded a playground at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, and helped repair Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support after storm damage. It all circles back to the same larger picture: Archewell Philanthropies gives Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a platform to support causes ranging from community recovery to the battle for safer online spaces.
