The immense popularity of beloved TV shows and films, combined with their passionate fan bases, often helps them become cultural phenomena. However, in recent years, that enthusiasm has sometimes crossed the line into unhealthy obsession. While a similar situation is seen within the Off-Campus viewers community, its streaming platform is set to take strict action against it.

Following a wave of unnecessary criticism and online harassment, the Off Campus team at Prime Video has finally addressed the situation, issuing a warning and calling out the toxic behavior directed at members of the cast.

The Off Campus team at Prime Video issued a public statement reminding viewers that the actors behind the show's beloved characters deserve respect and privacy. The statement points out that harassment directed at cast members would not be tolerated. And the message was shared across the show's official social media accounts.

“We ask that everyone in this space extend that respect to our cast and the people in their lives. Accounts that engage in targeted harassment will be removed from following our accounts," the message read.

The warning comes amid growing scrutiny surrounding the personal lives of some cast members. Mika Abdalla, who portrayed Allie Hayes in Season 1 and is set to return as a lead in the next season, recently ended her relationship with Jake Short. However, soon, there has been online speculation after an old podcast clip resurfaced in which Short jokingly referred to Abdalla as “some b****.”

The clip fueled several rumors about their relationship. Later, in a joint interview with Us Weekly, the former couple addressed the controversy, calling the claims inaccurate and harmful. This level of fan obsession is not new. Earlier, the team behind The Summer I Turned Pretty urged fans to stop visiting and disrupting filming locations. As the bizarre culture becomes increasingly intense, studios and production teams have begun taking a more active role in protecting cast members and calling out harmful behavior before it escalates further.
