Jason David Frank built a career that outlived the television era that made him famous. Directed by Aaron Schoenke, Legend of the White Dragon stars Frank as Erik Reed, a fugitive hero forced out of hiding who returns to Virtuo City and attempts to clear his name while protecting his family. The cast includes Aaron Schoenke, Jason Faunt, Rachele Brooke Smith, Cerina Vincent, Michael Madsen, Mark Dacascos, David Ramsey, Andrew Bachelor and Ciara Hanna. Rotten Tomatoes lists the film as a 97-minute R-rated action, adventure, fantasy, and science-fiction movie. 

The production has its own cult-film backstory. Bat in the Sun developed the project with Frank, following their earlier collaboration, and principal photography took place in 2021. Additional photography continued after Frank’s death as the filmmakers completed the movie, meaning the performance audiences will see this August was captured while Frank was still alive.

Legend of the White Dragon is scheduled for a limited theatrical release on August 28, 2026.  For fans who watched Frank grow from the troubled Green Ranger into one of Power Rangers’ defining figures, this final bow carries a weight that no costume can quite contain. His legacy now stretches beyond Tommy Oliver, preserved in the performances and characters he left behind.
