Miss Piggy sets her sights on Ariana Grande
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the legendary Miss Piggy named Ariana Grande as her dream guest for the upcoming iteration of The Muppet Show. The diva noted that she does not think Grande would mind working with Kermit the Frog. She jokingly pointed out that the Wicked star has worked with green people before.
“I’m sure she wouldn’t mind working with Kermit, she’s worked with green people before.” Miss Piggy told to Entertainment Tonight. This clever remark refers to the role Ariana Grande plays as Glinda, where she stars alongside Cynthia Erivo as the green-skinned Elphaba.
During the conversation on Entertainment Tonight, Miss Piggy extended this formal invitation while celebrating the landmark fiftieth anniversary of the original Muppet variety series. This news surfaces alongside rumors of a Miss Piggy movie being developed by Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone.
The singer seems more than ready to accept the offer from her puppet idols. Previously on the Golden Globes red carpet, Ariana Grande expressed that she is a massive Muppets fan and is open to joining their universe. Though she loves her character, Glinda, more than anything, she is always ready for new roles.
The glamorous pig is expanding her social circle to include today's biggest musical titans.
Anniversary antics and the return to the screen
Miss Piggy has reunited with Kermit, Gonzo, and Fozzie for the one-off special to mark their fiftieth birthday celebration. This milestone follows their beloved film outings like The Muppet Christmas Carol that defined many childhoods. Comedian Maya Rudolph and actor Seth Rogen join the cast for this thirty-minute special, released this Wednesday.
Pop star Sabrina Carpenter also features in the show, sparking a hilarious rivalry with the leading lady. There is a running joke throughout the sketches where Carpenter has allegedly stolen the look of Miss Piggy. The two icons face off in near-identical outfits while dealing with the threat of comical legal action. Miss Piggy also said the same to Entertainment Tonight.
