In a recent interview clip shared by Variety on Instagram, Robert Pattinson described the extreme physical demands of filming in blazing desert environments. Maintaining intricate facial makeup proved nearly impossible because excessive sweating threatened to destroy the prosthetics instantly. Pattinson noted that holding back sweat under those extreme environmental conditions felt like an impossible task.

“You can't sweat because it ruins makeup, and I'm like, 'Okay, Ahh, this is physically impossible!'” Pattinson said. Wearing heavy facial prosthetics and latex while shooting under intense sunshine created an overwhelming amount of body heat. The temperature was so severe that footwear began melting directly on the hot ground.

They then transitioned to the Liwa Desert in Abu Dhabi and Wadi Rum in Jordan during the latter months of autumn, avoiding the intense summer heat, as described by Robert Pattinson.
