Pedro Pascal has taken Hollywood by storm, headlining almost every major movie, and is now a franchise magnet after starring in The Last of Us, Fantastic Four, and seemingly in every big movie in existence. But that level of ubiquity is bound to breed backlash, as several critics online have raised concerns about Pascal. Recently, however, Pete Davidson has called out the Pedro Pascal hate train while shedding light on how quickly fame can change the narrative.

As a comedy A-lister, Pete Davidson has traversed the highest and the lowest ridges of Hollywood, making his perspective on the Pedro Pascal hate train noticeable. Appearing on This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von podcast, Davidson declared his discontent against people online who have been too quick to cancel Pascal or are tired of his on-screen presence. Davidson commended Pascal's career hike from a struggling actor, who blew up "so f---ing hard, everyone’s like ‘daddy!’" Expressing his frustrations, Davidson continued. "And then a year later, he’s like in everything now because he’s big and everyone’s like ‘go the f--- away dude!’ It’s like what the f--- dude??"

Davidson did not mince words on the podcast. He was calling out the trolls online who abuse Pascal for being everywhere at present. Davidson went on to advocate for Pascal, asking fans to allow him ample time to get used to his sudden meteoric rise to a new level of fame. Simply put, Davidson requested that his critics keep in mind the fact that the idols they admire can equally be individuals under stress, slamming fans who are "so fast to turn [on them]."
The message was direct from the actor-comedian that the newfound stardom is not a fluke but a climb for which one must be patient, as Pascal's current turbulences align with the dark side of fame.
Why is Pedro Pascal under fire?
Pedro Pascal's recent body of work, which boasts Materialists, The Last of Us, upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, and more, has placed him in the spotlight, despite having begun his career decades earlier; however, several critics online argue that it is too much. During his Fantastic Four: First Steps press tour, he had been the subject of attacks and memes for being too touchy with his co-stars, particularly Vanessa Kirby, in situations some find inappropriate.
