'Perfect Crown' Takes the Crown on Disney+ With Impressive Record
Perfect Crown has made a powerful presence upon its debut on Disney+. For the royal drama series, Byeon Woo-seok finally returns to the screen following his rise to stardom from the tvN romance drama, Lovely Runner. Starring opposite the actor is pop star and actress IU, who recently starred as a working-class protagonist, Ae-sun, in the famous Netflix show, When Life Gives You Tangerines.
Understandably, there is much anticipation around the new K-drama. So, it is not surprising that the show quickly made an impressive record upon its debut on Disney+.
Perfect Crown makes royal record on Disney+

Perfect Crown, starring Byeon Woo-seok and IU, which debuted on Disney+ on April 10, quickly became the platform’s most viewed Korean series within just five days of its launch. It is currently the No. 1 most-viewed Korean series premieres on the platform globally, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. As for the viewership numbers, Disney+ has refused to share the data.
Not just a popular and talented cast, the MBC drama also boasts one of the most brilliant teams. The show is written by Yoo Ji-won, while director Park Joon-hwa helmed the project. Joon-hwa is known for the hit series What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim and Alchemy of Souls. Steve Noh (Min Jeong-u) and Gong Seung-yeon (Yun I-rang) are also part of the cast.
While anticipation has translated into record-breaking success for the show in its first two episodes, when can people expect the rest of the episodes?
Release schedule for Perfect Crown
All the episodes of the new K-drama, Perfect Crown, are released every Friday and Saturday at 11:20 p.m., Korean standard time on MBC. So, episodes 3 and 4 will be released on April 17 and 18. Episodes 5 and 6 will arrive on April 24 and 25, followed by Episodes 7 and 8 on May 1 and 2, and Episodes 9 and 10 on May 8 and 9. While Episode 11 is scheduled for May 15, Episode 12 (the finale) will air on May 16.

Now, viewers in the U.S. can watch the show on Hulu, and the rest of the world can stream it on Disney+. As for the plot, it follows a royal, Grand Prince I-AN, played by Byeon Woo-seok, who has little real freedom, and chaebol heiress Seong Hui-ju, played by IU, who has independence but lacks royal status. And when the two form an unexpected alliance, emotions run high and drama inevitably follows.
