The MBC series starring K-pop royalty IU, in the role of Sung Hee-joo, a wealthy yet socially commoner chaebol heiress, and Lovely Runner heartthrob Byeon Woo-seok as the socially entrapped Grand Prince Yi An, will stream globally on Disney+ in April. Originally slated to premiere in the last half of 2025, the drama will air on MBC TV on April 3, 2026, in the slot previously occupied by In Your Radiant Season, with new episodes every Friday and Saturday.

Viewers in the US can exclusively stream the show on Disney+ this April. Though the total number of episodes may vary, according to industry reports, the spring romance produced by MBC and Kakao Entertainment might conclude in 12 episodes. To add to the anticipation, Perfect Crown had won the 2022 MBC Drama Script Contest.

Supported by a constellation of favorite stars — Noh Sang-hyun, Gong Seung-yeon, Yoo Su-bin, Lee Yeon, and Chae Seo-an, who strengthen the palace power dynamics, the series will stream on Disney+ Singapore starting April 10, 2026. Netflix's Alchemy of Souls director Park Joon-hwa and writer Yoo Ah-in impart thrill to the drama in a thoroughly built alternate universe of a constitutional monarchy in modern-day Korea.

Royal contract, real emotions — What is the Perfect Crown about?

The story of Perfect Crown takes place in a fictional version of Korea, which operates under a constitutional monarchy. Sung Hee-joo (IU) finds herself in a marriage of convenience to Grand Prince Yi An (Byeon Woo Seok), who seeks a life purpose beyond his royal status.
