Jon Favreau and Pedro Pascal had previously worked together on the first three seasons of The Mandalorian before reuniting for the 2026 movie. Speaking of the director, Pascal praised Favreau’s work with comedy, practical effects, and visual effects, while also appreciating the director’s vision for bringing Star Wars back to the big screen. At the same time, Pascal said he felt he was in good hands while joining the franchise and taking part in its movie adaptation.

“I’m so easily guided into it by Jon and I have been from the very beginning... I just feel like I’m in such good hands,” he told Discussing Film.

As for the movie finally getting a theatrical release after more than five years, Pascal called it a natural transformation for the franchise. He explained that he grew up watching Star Wars films on the big screen as a child, and he still shares the same love for experiencing them in theaters. This is something that also connects him with Jon Favreau, as both grew up watching Star Wars films in theaters during their early years.

“I'm going back in my head to when I'm 10 years old, watching with my dad. I'm an usher in the movie theater”, the director said during the etalk interview.
