Paradise, following its successful premiere in January 2025, returned for a second installment in February 2026. Actor Sterling K. Brown recently indicated that filming for the third installment is slated to begin at the end of March and conclude by mid-August during a chat on That Was Us podcast.
"I am not supposed to start season three of Paradise until, well, I do not know if we have been officially picked up, but, you know, end of March," Sterling K. Brown shared during the recent podcast appearance. This timeline indicates that the cast is preparing to return to the set almost immediately after the current finale airs.
Although an official renewal has not been publicly announced, the likelihood of a third season of Paradise is extremely high given the immense success of the project. Executive producer John Hoberg has already confirmed that the writing team is currently fleshing out the story for the next chapter.
The seamless transition from the season two finale to the start of new filming mirrors the efficient strategy employed during the previous year.
Critical dominance and an expanding post-apocalyptic world
The critical reception for the series, Paradise, has seen a notable upward trend. Currently, the show holds the top spot on Hulu and remains a fixture in the top three most-watched programs on Disney+ globally. The narrative scope has expanded significantly in the latest episodes as Xavier ventures onto the surface to locate his missing wife. This change in setting has allowed the show to introduce pivotal new characters played by Shailene Woodley and Thomas Doherty.
Their inclusion provides a fresh perspective on survival, as their characters have endured the harsh surface conditions for three years without the safety of the underground bunker. The premiere of the second season took a bold creative risk by focusing entirely on these new arrivals before returning to the journey of the protagonist.

This storytelling choice enriched the world-building and raised the stakes for the upcoming episodes. As the production prepares for its next phase, the balance between intimate character drama and expansive world-building remains the primary driver of its massive popularity. The consistent success of Paradise confirms that a well-defined ending can often be the greatest strength of a modern television series.
