She made an impression not just through her talent but also with her kindness and warmth.

The creator, director, star, and writer of The Studio, Seth Rogen, along with Evan Goldberg, recently appeared at the DGA Awards to accept their award for the Apple TV series. During their acceptance speech, they took a moment to pay tribute to Catherine O’Hara. Calling her an idol, both reflected on the times they had been inspired by her work in Home Alone.

“We grew up in Canada, and she is and was quite literally our idol since we were children,” Goldberg said.

“Yeah. I mean, Home Alone, honestly, is like the movie that made me want to make movies in a lot of ways,” Rogen said.

“In that movie, she’s always yelling ‘Kevin! Kevin!’ and on set we would be yelling ‘Evan! Evan!’ Every time she did, it’s like, Home Alone.”

Rogen called the actress an utter genius who was incredibly talented and warmhearted at the same time. He further went on to express his gratitude to her for being part of The Studio and spoke fondly of the time he got to direct her during the project. For those who are unaware, she played the role of Patty Leigh, an executive in the series, and was even nominated for an Emmy.
