With Charles Randolph as the writer, the film is being backed by the newly launched Emotion Pictures from Pathé and Merit France. The movie draws inspiration from Natasha Lance Rogoff's memoir, Muppets in Moscow: The Unexpected Crazy True Story of Making Sesame Street in Russia, where she shared the unbelievable real experience of bringing Sesame Street to Russia. The story follows the difficult journey of launching a Russian version of Sesame Street after the fall of the Soviet Union, during a time of political unrest, violence, and cultural clashes.

Despite several issues, the creative team never gave up hope. And now this story is getting adapted into a movie. The upcoming project, Philippe Rousselet and Fabrice Gianfermi are producing it under Emotion Pictures alongside producers from Felix Culpa, while Sesame Workshop, Natasha Lance Rogoff, and Randolph are the executive producers.
