Tom Holland has spent the summer hopping from one hero to another, trading Spider-Man: Brand New Day for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey as young Prince Telemachus. Yet amid blockbuster chatter and World Cup fever, another long-running role stole the spotlight. Asked where his football loyalties lie, Holland has proudly hailed himself as a Tottenham Hotspur fan. This is, after all, the same fan who once joked that he would rather see Spurs lift silverware than win a Hollywood award.

Years of rival chants about Tottenham Hotspur's trophy drought, however, might finally have Tom Holland questioning one lifelong origin story.

Hollywood loves an origin story, but Tom Holland delivered his funniest one on the Dish Podcast, hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett. Holland explained that his Tottenham Hotspur allegiance began with family mathematics: Harry Holland needed company as the only Tottenham Hotspur fan amongst the brothers, while Sam Holland and Paddy Holland had already crossed the football divide to Arsenal. So Holland had to step in.

"And, it is probably one of the worst decisions," Holland admitted, summing up years of emotional investment with the precision of Peter Parker missing a web swing. He explained that football only became part of his routine after film sets turned Monday mornings into Premier League debates, making Tottenham Hotspur his way into the conversation after years of being a rugby fan.

Back on the Dish Podcast, Holland laughed that there was no changing clubs now, even after jokingly blaming himself for Arsenal's defeat when he briefly supported them alongside his Arsenal-loving brothers. The actor also recalled that Harry Holland had actually warned Sam Holland against choosing Tottenham Hotspur because supporting the club was already difficult enough. Tom Holland ignored the caution, stayed loyal anyway, and now wears the regret almost as proudly as the badge.

Tom Holland and Zendaya, who once called working with Holland a privilege, have become Hollywood's favorite duo. Naturally, that raises one pressing question: whose side is the actress on when football rivalries kick off?

Which football team does Zendaya support?

As for Zendaya, the football rivalry never really reaches the Euphoria star's dressing room. While promoting Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey in an interview, Holland immediately planted his flag behind England for the FIFA World Cup. Zendaya, blissfully untouched by football tribalism, confessed that she does not really follow the sport and would simply support Holland instead.

Club loyalties prove equally uncomplicated. Zendaya has never publicly pledged herself to any football side, although Tottenham Hotspur fans have enthusiastically claimed honorary custody through Holland. The actress chose partnership over penalty shootouts, meaning the only football regret in the relationship still belongs to Holland and his famously ill-fated Spurs allegiance.
