In a recent interview, Littlefield also applauded Perry’s presence of mind
during the show’s presentation.

WHY DID WARREN LITTLEFIELD PRAISE THE FRIENDS STAR?

In 1996, in a room full of executives, the presentation of the show was
disturbed because of an electrical failure. Perry channeled his Chandler Bing
personality and came up front to woo people. The 71-year-old executive penned
the incident for Variety recently about how no one asked Perry to do what he
did. However, he saw what was happening and decided to jump in to entertain the
audience.

According to Littlefield, Perry was not only a testament to the industry’s
philanthropy but also a beacon of hope for those whose lives he touched. The
late actor had also admitted to training his friend, Craig Bierko, for
Chandler’s role

His benevolent nature of giving up the role for his friend impressed Littlefield
a great deal.
