Michelle Pfeiffer has built a career on keeping people guessing, and the last few weeks proved that instinct has not faded. Speculation began swirling after remarks she made at an Apple TV event left many wondering about her future on the big screen. The actress recently sat across from Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, where the topic naturally found its way into conversation. Curiosity around her next chapter has only grown louder since.

While speculation painted one picture of her future, Pfeiffer herself was ready to paint a very different one on national television.

Michelle Pfeiffer addresses her future on The Tonight Show

Michelle Pfeiffer is not stepping away from the big screen, and she made that clear without hesitation. Earlier remarks had suggested otherwise, leaving many to assume she was closing that chapter of her career for good. Speaking with Jimmy Fallon, the actress dismissed the idea and set the record straight.

"Of course, I want to star in another movie," she said on an appearance on The Tonight Show.

She then added, "It's wonderful to be able to live with a character for such an extended period of time," emphasizing her love for television without ruling out film.

The confusion traced back to comments Pfeiffer made weeks earlier at a The Hollywood Reporter panel, where she said she preferred ensemble projects over solo lead roles. She had insisted she never wanted to headline another film, a statement many outlets ran with as a retirement signal. On The Tonight Show, she pushed back on that reading, explaining her earlier words had been taken out of context. Fallon pressed her directly on the matter, giving Pfeiffer the platform to clarify her stance for good.
