Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out of the Royal family in a grand Megxit to move across the pond, their royal titles have been in constant jeopardy. But the Sussexes, while not toning down on any activities that may further prove to be a threat to their title, have also proudly kept their royal titles. Markle may have addressed their daughter Princess Lilibet in a grand fashion, but she cannot do the same for herself.

The Duchess of Sussex can never truly live the royal fantasy down to the last morsel as she can never be addressed as ‘Princess Meghan’. That is not to say that Markle is not a princess. When she married into the royal family, Queen Elizabeth granted the retired actress the official title of Princess Henry of Wales.

Not leaving a lot to speculate, Markle was entitled to ‘Princess Henry of Wales’ as it was derived from the birth name of her husband. However, the Duchess rejected the title.

Markle’s rejection to be called Princess, however, cannot be added to the list of reasons to declare her as a maverick because the ever so rule-abiding Kate Middleton has followed a similar path.

After Prince Harry, will Meghan Markle lose her royal title?

Prince Harry, despite being born a Prince, and even keeping up, although barely, with his royal duties following the Megxit, was voted out of the line of succession by a popular poll not long ago. Therefore, the chances for Meghan Markle to keep her royal title are pretty slim.

If the Palace does come to take away her royal title, the former actress does not have many points to back her up. Not only is she not a working royal, but has publicly ousted the royal family, claiming that they are racists. This fall from not just the netizens’ hearts but allegedly also her husbands’ may just take away from Meghan Markle, the royal title she endured a lot to keep.
