Nicole Kidman has returned to Australia, stepping out in Sydney for a glamorous Chanel appearance as she embraces a new chapter following her divorce from Keith Urban. After nearly two decades of marriage, the actress is navigating a significant personal transition while continuing to maintain her place in Hollywood's fashion and entertainment circles. Her latest appearance also brings back memories of another widely discussed chapter in her life, when her separation from Tom Cruise became part of early-2000s celebrity lore. 

And if there is one thing Kidman has consistently demonstrated, it is that a new chapter can come with an entirely new look.

Nicole Kidman is back on Australian soil, bringing her latest public appearance to Sydney for an occasion that put the city on the international fashion calendar. The actress attended Chanel's first-ever runway presentation in Australia, where the fashion house presented its Cruise 2026/27 collection, originally unveiled in Biarritz. The actress debuted fresh bangs for the occasion, adding another transformation to her ever-evolving beauty repertoire.

The transformation was created by celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel, who has previously worked with Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron. In an exclusive conversation with Vogue UK, Abergel spoke about the significance of having Kidman back in Sydney and explained how the city's coastal atmosphere influenced his approach. Rather than opting for an overly polished finish, he incorporated natural movement and texture into her hair, creating a look that complemented the occasion while retaining Kidman's understated red-carpet elegance.

And while the hairstyle attracted plenty of attention, Kidman had another special guest accompanying her for the occasion.

Nicole Kidman attended the Chanel presentation with her youngest daughter, Faith Margaret, turning the occasion into a fashionable family moment. The actress opted for a sharp black-and-white ensemble, wearing a long tailored black jacket over a crisp white top, paired with high-waisted, wide-leg trousers and pointed heels. Tinted sunglasses, a small black handbag and her new wispy fringe completed the look.

Faith, meanwhile, went in the opposite direction with a coordinated cream outfit featuring a cropped textured jacket, a matching mini skirt and strappy heels. Their contrasting styles made for an interesting mother-daughter fashion moment.

There is also a nostalgic layer to Kidman's latest appearance. Following her 2001 divorce from Tom Cruise, a photograph of the actress in a pink top and green bottoms, smiling with her arms outstretched, became an enduring internet symbol of post-divorce freedom. However, Kidman clarified in a 2024 interview with British GQ that the photograph was actually taken on a film set and had nothing to do with her divorce. Still, the image has remained part of celebrity pop culture, making comparisons with her latest public chapter almost inevitable. Her marriage to Urban ended after 19 years, with their divorce finalized in January 2026.

For Kidman, returning to Australia is another opportunity to reconnect with familiar surroundings while continuing to embrace everything her career and personal life have in store.
