Nicholas Galitzine believes that He-Man is strong enough to take on Superman and defeat him. The actor plays He-Man in Masters of the Universe and wields the sword of power. He knows a thing or two about the character and his immense strength, so who better than Galitzine to weigh in on the debate?

Unfortunately for him, his opinion was quickly challenged by the film’s director, Travis Knight, who appeared to have a very different take on the matchup.

In a recent conversation with WIRED, Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, and Travis Knight were asked whether He-Man is stronger than Superman. While Galitzine agreed, Knight seemed to think Superman had the upper hand, sparking a hilarious debate between the two. Galitzine argued that, as per DC Comics, He-Man has defeated Superman before, while Knight appeared unconvinced and responded with a rather humorous comment.

“Superman would mop the floor with him,” he said.

“Are you trying to get a job?" Galatzine questioned after Knight seemed to deny the DC lore.

Jumping into the playful debate, Knight made a phone-call gesture and jokingly suggested that James Gunn should give him a call. While it is true that He-Man has defeated Superman in a one-on-one confrontation in the comics, he did so using his magical powers. Because of that, some fans may argue that it is not the fairest comparison when determining whether He-Man is stronger than Superman, despite Galitzine's confidence in the hero's abilities.

But the actor’s dedication to the character is understandable, considering the immense efforts Galatzine took to look like He-Man.

Nicholas Galitzine explained the intense training method for He-Man

Even before the film's premiere, Nicholas Galitzine had impressed fans with his ripped physique for the role of He-Man. But achieving that look was not easy. To prepare for the role, Galitzine underwent an intense physical transformation, following a rigorous training regimen that helped him bulk up and build the powerful frame needed to portray Eternia's hero.

“You know, having up to 5,000 calories sometimes, weightlifting for three hours a day and then we streamlined it,” he told E! News’ Will Marfuggi at the movie premiere on May 18, 2026.

Not only did Galitzine undergo intense training, but he also had to maintain a strict diet to gain muscle and achieve the physique required for the role. It was a challenging and grueling process, requiring months of dedication and discipline just to look like He-Man. Whether He-Man can truly beat Superman may remain up for debate, but Galitzine’s commitment to bringing the hero to life is undeniably incredible.
