While Neymar Jr.'s latest project showcases his growing influence off the field, one memorable story from another celebrity offers a glimpse into the football star's life away from major business ventures.

Niall Horan recalls an unexpected Neymar Jr. encounter

In a recent episode of Netflix's The Rest is Football, titled Scotland's Crucial Win and Niall Horan's Rondo With Neymar, singer Niall Horan shared a humorous memory from his first meeting with the Brazilian star. Horan explained that after learning Neymar was a fan, he accepted an invitation to visit the footballer's home. The evening included pool, drinks, and casual football, but Horan nearly created an awkward moment.

“We were kind of playing a little bit of a rondo thing, and he’d [Neymar Jr.] just come back from injury, and I did a slide tackle on him. He was in his garage. I was like, ‘Oh Jesus, what am I doing?’ I’d had a few beers on board. ‘I am gonna break the ankles of the best Brazilian footballer in the world,’” Horan said. Fortunately, the incident remained a funny story rather than a disastrous one.
