Enola Holmes 3 breaks the series’ winning streak by earning the lowest rating in the trilogy so far. The Enola Holmes films began as a lively, modern extension of the Sherlock Holmes world, giving a fresh voice to the canon through Sherlock’s younger sister. With Millie Bobby Brown fronting the franchise and Henry Cavill adding star power as Sherlock, the franchise quickly became one of Netflix’s most recognizable detective properties.

But after two well-received films, the third outing now appears to be showing the first real signs of a slump.

Enola Holmes 3 scores lower than its predecessors

That concern comes from the early critical response to Enola Holmes 3, which is currently sitting at 80% on Rotten Tomatoes based on a limited batch of reviews. That makes it the lowest-rated entry in the series so far, especially when compared with the 93% score for Enola Holmes 2 and the 91% score for the original film. In other words, the new movie is still being received positively overall, but it has not matched the stronger reaction that helped build the franchise’s early momentum.

The drop is notable because the earlier films were seen as dependable crowd-pleasers that balanced mystery, wit, and period adventure with a lighter tone. This new score suggests that critics may feel the third film is not quite as sharp or as fresh as what came before. It also matters because franchise momentum often depends on whether each sequel can at least hold the enthusiasm of the previous chapter.

So while Enola Holmes 3 is not a disaster by any means, the numbers suggest a clear step down for a series that once looked like one of Netflix’s more consistent winners. With more reviews still to come, the score could shift, but for now the franchise’s newest chapter is its weakest critical performer yet.

Even so, Millie Bobby Brown is already turning the page to her next major Netflix project.

Millie Bobby Brown reunites with David Harbour for new Netflix thriller

Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour are set to share the screen again, this time in a very different setup from Stranger Things. Their new Netflix project is a spy thriller built around an estranged father-daughter relationship, which gives their reunion a dramatic hook while also leaning on the chemistry that made their earlier partnership so memorable.

The series comes from Jack Thorne, best known for Adolescence, and it has already received a straight-to-series order. Harbour plays Matt Wolfe, a former FBI agent turned security expert, whose life is shaken when his daughter Rebecca disappears during an FBI mission. Brown plays Rebecca, who followed in her father’s footsteps and became an FBI agent herself, which sets up a tense story about family history, trust, and danger colliding at the worst possible time.

What makes the project especially interesting is the creative team around it. A24 is producing the series, and Brown is also reconnecting with Thorne after their work together on the Enola Holmes films. That gives the show both star appeal and strong writing pedigree, which should help it stand out in a crowded streaming landscape.
