Zendaya revealed that despite preparing extensively for her scenes, a combination of nerves and Iceland's freezing weather made her first day far more difficult than she expected. The actress admitted she had rehearsed her dialogue repeatedly but ended up psyching herself out while filming.

“It was particularly cold. … It was in Iceland. My mouth was just frozen. Oh, there is nothing coming out. My mouth just won’t move. Literally. It just came out like, ‘Blah blah blah.’ So embarrassing,” said Zendaya during a recent interview for the Happy Sad Confused podcast with host Josh Horowitz.

Thankfully, the awkward moment did not define her experience. As filming progressed, Zendaya embraced the opportunity to work alongside an acclaimed cast and crew, describing, in the interview, the project as a gift and saying she was excited to deliver her best performance. While her first day was unforgettable for unexpected reasons, her London premiere appearance became memorable for an entirely different one.

While Zendaya's first day on set was defined by freezing temperatures and nerves, her appearance at The Odyssey's London premiere proved to be a story of flawless fashion and a gown that had quite the journey to get there.

Zendaya's premiere look had its own journey before reaching London

Zendaya's striking Schiaparelli couture gown made headlines at The Odyssey world premiere, but the outfit almost had an adventure of its own before arriving on the red carpet. Her longtime stylist, Law Roach, revealed that he flew to Paris to collect the freshly debuted runway look before rushing it to London in time for the event.

The sculptural porcelain-effect ensemble, unveiled earlier that day during Schiaparelli's Fall/Winter 2026–27 Haute Couture show, featured an intricate mirrored fringe skirt and was paired with dazzling Chopard diamonds. Completing the look with flowing waist-length waves, Zendaya showcased a dramatic fashion moment as she celebrated her role as the Greek goddess Athena ahead of The Odyssey's July 17 theatrical release.
