Tyriq Withers is ready for his next venture, Love Love, with a secret weapon in his arsenal against his insane ADHD. Withers has quite a career trajectory, starting off through his TyriqTV YouTube channel, where he created comedy sketches, pranks, social experiments, and lifestyle vlogs, earning a strong following for his relatable and humorous content. Then he swiftly transitioned into acting when he started getting enough public attention through his online media content. After a slew of appearances in shows and movies, he made a breakthrough with Reminders of Him, which was released earlier this year.

He is currently busy prepping for his next film, Love Love, and he is doing his best to take care of his ADHD.

Tyriq Withers has recently been grabbing every opportunity that comes his way, but the romantic comedy from Amazon MGM Studios, Love Love, offers an opportunity to show a different side, and for that the 28-year-old actor is doing everything he can. In an interview with Variety, he revealed that he has shed weight for the upcoming film to emulate a boyish charm that is required for the role. He also revealed that he has been practicing meditation to control his ADHD.

“My ADHD is, like, crazy,” the actor said.

One would suspect that the meditation has had an impact when speaking with Withers. The young actor, wearing a sweatsuit, gym socks, and YSL loafers, packed his large frame into a small office chair and did not for once appear to realize that the interview was taking place in a tiny storage room at a photo studio, which was essentially a closet. 

This is true even as he jostled clothes hangers dangling behind him without responding, all the while raising his hands above his head to stretch out or accentuate a point. He appeared to be comfortable occupying space. This quality might work to his advantage in Love Love, his first film as an executive producer and a swift display of authority for a young performer.

Tyriq Withers, who has been in the acting gig since four years, has already assumed the position of an executive producer, taking on high stakes in his new project. This decision becomes apparent as one hears him talk passionately about the project. I Know What You Did Last Summer star is enthusiastic about the idea, although he disputes the romantic comedy label because he believes it has a bit more substance.  

“I’d challenge that it’s a romantic dramedy because there’s an element of real-life human connection and vulnerability. It’s going to give you When Harry Met Sally, Notting Hill,” Withers claimed.

These are some far-fetched comparisons, easier to say but harder to back up. However, Withers clarifies that he only means the parallel to be made in terms of tone rather than quality. He felt a bit self-conscious that he used two all-time classics to characterize a film that has not yet been shot. Despite his ambition, Withers is not conceited. He is an artist who is invested in the project enough to do anything for it - be it shedding weight or practicing meditation.
