Blake Lively took to her Instagram story on Friday to extend a heartfelt apology over her latest comments on Kate Middleton’s before the revelation of her cancer diagnosis. The 36-year-old’s story read, “I’m sure no one cares today but I feel like I have to acknowledge this” hours after the news was revealed. Recognizing the “silly post” she shared regarding the "Photoshop mishaps," she went on to express deep regret for her actions, admitting that she feels "mortified" for not fully grasping the gravity of the situation.

Lively further said “I’m sorry” while she also ensured to send “love and well wishes to all”. Last week, Lively, in an attempt to promote her beverage company, Betty Buzz, shared an edited photo of an enlarged thumb and a floating lemon. The photo was reportedly her poking fun at Kate Middleton's edited Mother’s Day photo. However, after the Princess of Wales announced her cancer diagnosis and ongoing chemotherapy treatment on Friday in a videotaped statement, Lively shouldered the responsibility to make amends.
