The Harrigans made it through their brutal war with the Stevensons in season 1 of Mobland, but the victory came with a heavy price. With the family already divided, Season 2 has a fresh threat waiting outside its walls.

Season 2 focuses on the Harrigans trying to maintain control while their criminal empire comes under pressure from rising rivals. The ending of Season 1 provides the foundation for that conflict. Richie Stevenson’s death closes the Harrigan-Stevenson war, yet the family emerges deeply fractured. Kevin has begun challenging Conrad, Maeve has pushed Eddie toward a position of power, Seraphina is considering moves of her own, and Kat has entered the picture. 

The new season also introduces Johnny Flynn and Ophelia Lovibond as series regulars. Flynn plays Frankie, also known as Beast, a dangerous new adversary who arrives with a clear interest in the Harrigan operation. Lovibond’s character details were kept under wraps by Paramount+ before the premiere.

MobLand Season 2 premieres Friday, September 18, 2026, exclusively on Paramount+. The season contains 10 episodes, with a new installment arriving every Friday. The finale is scheduled for November 20, 2026.

Beyond the gang war, the series has already generated plenty of headlines behind the camera.

One of the biggest stories surrounding Season 2 involved Tom Hardy and reports of tension behind the scenes. In May 2026, Variety reported that Hardy would not return for a potential third season after production wrapped, citing sources who described disputes involving executive producer Jez Butterworth, 101 Studios, and others. 

Helen Mirren later publicly supported her co-star. Speaking to Variety, she said she would work with Hardy again in a heartbeat and described him as a remarkable actor. The reports had suggested friction involving Hardy and members of the production, with some accounts also claiming that Mirren and Pierce Brosnan had been kept waiting during filming. 

The situation eventually changed. Paramount+ renewed MobLand for Season 3 on September 3, 2026, confirming that Hardy, Brosnan, and Mirren will return. Variety subsequently reported that a meeting in London helped resolve the issues surrounding Hardy’s future with the series.
