A new video clip has surfaced from the Minion & Monsters film, giving off a very 1920s noir vibe. The Minions have made a separate identity outside of the Despicable Me franchise with their adorable tendency to help out the baddest, most evil person around. They have played a huge role in history, helping bad guys, one of them being Napoleon Bonaparte. But that backfired when they angered him and had to spend the rest of their years hiding in a cave until 1968.
However, the upcoming Minions & Monsters does not really follow this trend and focuses mainly on Minions trying to make a movie.
Recently, a clip has been released showing Minions drenched in 1920s noir while filming their movie.

Minions channel 1920s detective tropes in Minions and Monsters new clip
The clip from Minions & Monsters has been making the rounds on the internet for a cute and simultaneously hilarious take on the 1920s noir films. In the video, a Minion is sitting in a chair, all Humphrey Bogart style and giving off that signature suave vibe of the era. Of course, the dialogues are in the Minion tongue, which makes it even more funny.
But the Jazz background score, the over-the-top enunciation of each word, and the sizzling chemistry between the Minion and the actress are all reminiscent of an era long gone. The clip perfectly complements the marketing strategy of most Hollywood movies, absolutely funny with a dab of nostalgia.
The first Minions movie and the first three Despicable Me movies were directed by Academy Award nominee Pierre Coffin, who also voiced the Minions since their 2010 theatrical debut. The film is written by Brian Lynch (Minions, The Secret Life of Pets) and Coffin and is produced by Illumination’s Academy Award-nominated creator and CEO, Chris Meledandri, and Bill Ryan (The Super Mario Bros. Movie). Lynch also acts as executive producer.
The clip is just a part of an insane storyline that will see the Minions embark on their own world-ending adventure.
The plot of Minions & Monsters
The plot of Minions & Monsters takes place in Old Hollywood in the 1920s, about 40 years before the events of the 2015 Minions movie. The film features a new clan of Minions, alongside primary characters James, Henry, and Ed. The three Minions decide to make their own monster film because they are determined to start again. They enlist monsters for their movie by calling forth a cute Lovecraftian creature using a spellbook they stole from a prior evil master.
