Millie Bobby Brown has spoken against the backlash her husband, Jake Bongiovi, has been getting for not acting as per public expectations. For the uninitiated, the Stranger Things star is married to the American model and actor, and the son of the legendary musician Jon Bon Jovi. The couple tied the knot in 2024 after three years of dating and welcomed a daughter the next year via adoption.

But ever since the couple welcomed their first child, Bongiovi has been facing backlash for his parenting style, and Brown has finally said something about it.

After critics chastised her husband for failing to push their infant's stroller or carry her luggage on several recent outings, Millie Bobby Brown is standing up for Jake Bongiovi. The Enola Holmes actress made an appearance on Kylie Kelce's Not Gonna Lie podcast on Thursday. In a sneak peek, she responds to people who are upset that she is doing all the heavy lifting.

"When did women become incapable of holding their own bags, car seats and stuff? "This stems from me holding all of my suitcases and bags and my kid and people are like, 'Your husband doesn't hold a single thing.' Because I'm three miles ahead. I have been planning this all night."

She also exposes the hypocrisy of women encouraging other women to take care of themselves while being upset with Bongiovi for failing to assist her. The criticism against Bongiovi has been going on for a while now, where people have been fairly outspoken about wanting to see him contribute on family outings with Brown and their adopted child, bashing him for not helping her at all.

But Brown has her husband's back, and she claims he knows she can take care of herself. She lavished Bongiovi with praises, calling him polite and sweet - someone who would do anything for her. But she also acknowledged that he knows his wife is a strong woman and can handle things on her own.

The actress seems to have taken control of the narrative against her husband for the time being, all of which with a video online.

The source of the controversy

People were rather harsh when a video surfaced in November showing Millie Bobby Brown trying to enter a building while managing a throng of paparazzi by herself while clutching their infant. As a point of reference, Jake Bongiovi is seen in the video standing to one side and motioning for his wife and daughter to pass him. In the meantime, Brown had to caution one of the paps not to approach her.

In another scene, Noah Schnapp, Brown's Stranger Things co-star, was seen following the couple inside with a big bag that appeared to be a baby bag, whereas Bongiovi had nothing. Separate images also surfaced, showing Bongiovi dragging the stroller's empty base while wearing one backpack and Brown straining to carry three heavy bags plus the infant in her car seat. All this led to a huge online flak against Bongiovi, which Brown has finally addressed. The actress will soon be seen in Enola Holmes 3
